I just received an email from a family member asking what I thought of the Logitech® QuickCam Fusion and whether or not he’d made a good purchase.
Although I’ve never purchased this web cam, it was one of the items I considered when purchasing my Logitech® QuickCam® Communicate™ STX.
I’ve received compliments on the clarity during video conferencing and online chatting with my family and friends. I’ve also taken pics with the cam and they’re not bad for a 1.3 megapixel camera. Matter of fact the pic you see on my blog was taken with my Logitech® QuickCam Communicate STX.
So it’s really a matter of preference and cost. It does seem like the Fusion is a better purchase, but again it does cost more. Having just read the comparisons on Logitech’s website, the Fusion may be a future purchase!
Other review sites on the Logitech® QuickCam Fusion:
I found this review on this site Webcam Ratings:
“It’s not common that we find such excellent reviews on a personal Web site, but that’s the case here. Frank Harell, who is the Webmaster for several sites and is obviously a Webcam enthusiast, tests 24 current Webcams, more than any other reviewer we found. In addition, he’s the only reviewer that includes a set of standardized test photos in various lighting conditions for each camera. The sample photos are compared to a control photo made with a digital SLR. Currently, the Logitech QuickCam Fusion is the best Webcam overall, with smooth video, good face-tracking and very good images. The Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks is the best portable choice, though Harell warms high frame rates can be a drain on your notebook’s processing power. The Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX is Harell’s pick under $50.”
The Logitech® QuickCam Fusion delivers true 1.3 megapixel images, superior video quality, and echo-free audio – all in a high-end design that was named PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice in February 2006.*
