All this LCMS! I miss designing business forms, styling and formatting training manuals, PowerPoint presentations, etc.

August 6, 2009 By Kat M B Leave a Comment

Although learning a new program, application, software, etc. is fun for me. Working in them steadily may not always be as much fun.

When I started on this project a year ago, it was exciting! I was learning VTN Ole system (an LCMS), and making revisions to Taco Bell’s Answer System (which consists of six books and is basically their restaurant policies and protocols, menu builds, etc.) within the VTN Ole system. VTN wasn’t initially made as an LCMS, and was difficult to work with, not flexible, and had many issues, but I was able to complete the project.

A decision was made to migrate to OutStart Evolution (another LCMS), which at first seemed promising. But after “playing” in the system and trying out various layouts for an important section of the books I find there are many issues, incompatibility, etc. It could just be that the Answer System books don’t belong in these systems, but I feel the systems aren’t flexible enough to meet their needs.

This past week and next I’m proofreading all the content to ensure it migrated properly. I really miss working on the “fun stuff” – designing business forms, styling and formatting training manuals, PowerPoint presentations, etc. But what I really miss is my social media networking and helping others with tips and How-to’s. I miss learning new systems, software, programs, applications, etc. I guess I’m a learner. It’s my biggest strength along with socializing, and assisting others with technology.

So for now, I bid you adieu. Until next time…

Client in need of PowerPoint template designed…

Turn Communications – Ken needed me to put together a PowerPoint template for his client Axcess-Tel. He gave me the background images for the Title and Slide Masters, font sizes, colors, etc.I had it ready for him in 1 hour.

Then the client requested that I turn their presentation into the actual template, and that took me about 2 hours. They were very pleased with the quick turn-around time and the template.

They have now asked that I show them how to use the template.

Need a PowerPoint Presentation created, formatted, or designed?

August 1, 2007 By Kat M B Leave a Comment

Do you need a PowerPoint presentation created, designed, or formatted and don’t have the time, skill, or know-how?

Maybe you already have the presentation created, but it needs pizazz or it doesn’t look as professional as you’d like?

Or the presentation is formatted nicely, but you have the standard Microsoft PowerPoint templates, or none at all?

Contact me. I’ve been designing presentations since 1997 (or there abouts). I was even the Executive Presentation Specialist for the VP of Pratt & Whitney (UTC), and the GS&D and M&A departments. The job was wonderful, but location was a factor. They were on the east coast, and I needed to move back here to Cali.

So don’t stress over that presentation any longer, that’s what I’m here for!

Talk to you soon!
